I am sorry to hear of your son's Parkinson's. I am pleased to hear current drugs are helping.

I understand your anxiousness given the current political climate and stem cell research funding. From my standpoint, I believe the stem cell debate needs to be politically uncoupled from abortion. Now more than ever, I believe the politicians that can lead and educate the public should be supported. It is important support for the "right" stem cell research becomes a poiltical asset rather liablilty.

Aug. 31,2008: My son developed Parkinsons about 4 years ago and with the help of drugs is doing reasonably well but I am so anxious for him to be cured before I go to my great reward! Are the stem cells going to be used within the next couple of years? It would appear that with all the science devote to stem cells, it will not be long before sick patients will be made well again.

We will give you an opportunity to upload the fulltext article at the end of this posting. Dr. Mark Behlke, Dr John Rossi and team have been gaining deeper understanding of the Mechanism of Dicer-substrate small-interfering RNA (DsiRNA) processing. This understanding is leading to better and better designs of the RNA duplexes. These designs or chemical modifications are necessary steps in drug design and development proce [...]
